A 15-year-old girl has been arrested after a threat call prompted the Toronto Branksome hall to end school early.

A 15-year-old girl has been arrested after a threat call prompted the Toronto Branksome hall to end school early.

The Toronto Police received a report of the threatening call on June 13 at a school near Elm Avenue and Mount Pleasant Road. The incident took place around 7.30 AM and led to a lockdown being placed at the Branksome Hall.

Officers who attended the scene said that no threats were found, and no injuries were reported as well. But the students were sent home for the remaining day. The same evening, the school sent out a letter to the parents that the school will be closed for the rest of the school year.

According to the Branksome Hall Spokesperson, Liisa Stephenson, the school decided to end the school early after carefully weighing the risks against the safety of our community.

Toronto Police arrested a 15-year-old girl on Monday who is accused of the threat call. The name of the accused cannot be revealed under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The girl has been charged with public mischief, threatening death, and conveying a false message with an intent to harm. She has a date of 15 August in Court.
