SHO Bajwa levels serious allegations against Sherowalia; expresses threat to life
Talking to media persons in Jalandhar, inspector Bajwa said that his resignation was rejected and he was forcibly made to write an application and sent on a five-day leave. Maintaining that the FIR registered by him against Sherowalia on charges of illegal mining was appropriate, Bajwa said he was being pressurized by senior police and government officials.
Alleging intervention in his personal life, Parminder Bajwa expressed his dissatisfaction over the recent video which had shown him enter a city-based hotel at midnight, hours before lodging of the FIR and the alleged presence of a woman with him. “The CM held a press conference in Chandigarh and levelled allegations against me and my woman friend. Doesn’t he roam around with his woman friend?” Bajwa retaliated.
SHO Bajwa also levelled serious allegations against the Shahkot Congress nominee, “Sherowalia extorts money from liquor contractors, tehsildars and policemen. When he asked me for the same, I refused. I had told the SSP that I cannot be pressurized hence sought a transfer. I was posted at Mehatpur police station on the orders of the Election Commission”.
The Mehatpur SHO disclosed that he received a complaint regarding illegal mining at 11 pm on the day he joined duty. He said, “I had a word with senior officials and they asked me to talk to the mining officer. Thereafter I went to the Radisson and stayed there. Since I did not receive any order till 4:30 am in the morning, I asked the munshi to register the case against Sherowalia. His video had gone viral so investigation was not required”.
Bajwa further said, “The FIR clearly mentions that a challan will be presented in the court if the allegations are found to be true. Without any reason the Congress raked up the matter and now Capt. Amarinder Singh is also trying to shield Sherowalia because he has bought the party ticket for Rs. 10 crore”. Bajwa also accused Shahkot DSP Dilbag Singh of corruption. “Many leaders of the Congress and Akali Dal use us and they are involved in corruption”, he added.
Expressing threat to his life SHO Bajwa said that his service weapons and his gunmen have been withdrawn. “I still have two revolvers with me for self-defence”, he said. The SHO also accused a journalist of threatening him. “I provided information to all the senior officers regarding the gangsters but nobody paid heed to it. Now when I took action in an illegal mining case, the whole department turned its back on me”, rued Bajwa.
