SIU probing fatal fall of man from Hwy. 401
The SIU is investigating the death of a man who fell from Hwy. 401 in Toronto onto a golf course early Tuesday.
The province’s Special Investigations Unit says police received multiple calls just before 2 a.m. about a man walking eastbound in the collector lanes of Hwy. 401 between Avenue Rd. and Yonge St.
An OPP officer engaged with the man and the man fled northbound across four lanes of traffic, according to the SIU.
In his flight, the man fell through an open separation between the collector lanes and the express lanes. He landed in a wooded area of the Don Valley Golf Course and died at the scene.
Two investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
