Woman killed by bus in Brampton the fourth to die in GTA in day
A woman is dead after being hit by a transit bus in Brampton early Wednesday, the latest in a string of pedestrian deaths.
Peel Regional Police say the woman was crossing Queen St. near Kennedy Rd. around 6:45 a.m. when she was struck.
About a half hour later, a second pedestrian was hit in Mississauga by a truck that failed to remain at the scene, at Dixie Rd. and Shawson Dr. Peel police say the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. No description of the vehicle was immediately available.
The two incidents come less than a day after of three pedestrians were killed in the GTA.
An elderly woman was fatally struck by a dump truck in Mississauga around 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Dorcas St. and Minotola Ave. area.
Then, around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Toronto Police say a man in his 60s was killed at Midland and Dorcot Aves. after being hit by an SUV.
And at 7:45 p.m., a woman died after being struck near Dundas St. W. and Erin Station Rd. in Mississauga.
