A Jolly Visitor Delivers Smiles to Paediatric Patients at Brampton Civic

December 11, 2019 (BRAMPTON) – Young patients at William Osler Health System’s (Osler) Brampton Civic Hospital were greeted by the sound of sleigh bells and a hearty “Ho! Ho! Ho!”, when families and staff at the Paediatric Department received a special visit from the Elf in Chief—Santa Claus. The jolly old gent delivered gifts and good wishes to each room, bringing a touch of holiday cheer to the hospital.
The visit is courtesy of Bramalea City Centre (BCC) as part of their multi-year commitment to William Osler Health System Foundation (Osler Foundation). In addition to providing special access to the man in red, 50% of revenue from the popular BCC Santa Photo Campaign is donated to Osler Foundation for the purchase of vital hospital equipment across Osler’s three hospitals including Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Santa to Brampton Civic! We rely on community support to fund equipment for our hospitals, and this commitment from Bramalea City Centre is especially meaningful,” said Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, William Osler Health System Foundation. “Not only does BCC provide vital funds that help ensure Osler clinicians and physicians have the resources they need to deliver exceptional health care, unique initiatives like these special visits from Santa have a real, direct and immediate impact on our patients and staff. We look forward to this day each year.”
Santa will be at BCC from November 15 to December 24 for photos. In addition to donating a portion of Santa photo sales, BCC supports Osler Foundation through the shopping centre’s various communications vehicles, including in-mall and online.
“William Osler Health System Foundation works hard to ensure the hospital has the vital funds needed to deliver the health care the community deserves, and we’re proud we’re able to lend our support in a variety of ways,” said Eleni Koukoulidis, Marketing Director for Bramalea City Centre. “The more people come together to support a local cause, the more we create positive change.”
