Get ready for messy Thursday commute – snow and ice forecast for Brampton and Mississauga
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Mississauga, Brampton and parts of Halton, warning of snow and ice pellets beginning Wednesday (Feb. 5) and into Thursday (Feb. 6).
Thursday morning and afternoon commutes may be affected, warns the national weather agency.
A low from Texas is expected to move toward southern and eastern Ontario, probably following a track just south of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario on Thursday (Feb. 6), according to weather forecasters.
Snow will arrive Wednesday night, and may become mixed with ice pellets before coming to an end by Thursday night.
The national weather agency is also warning of a risk of freezing rain. At this point, forecasters are calling or total snowfall amounts to be near 5 cm.
