Married Indian women fast from sunrise to moonrise for the good health of their partners and break the fast by worshipping the moon.

Significance of Karwa Chauth: The auspicious day is as exciting as Diwali which is celebrated exact 10 days after Karwa Chauth. On this day, women wake up early in the morning and eat food which is called sargi, before sunrise. After fasting the day, they deck up by wearing a new Indian suit or saree with red and green bangles and listen to the Karwa Chauth katha before breaking their fast after the moonrise.
