Karwa Chauth 2020: Date, Time and Significance

A big shout out to the ladies who make sure they fast for the longevity of their husband on Karwa Chauth!! Every year 10 days before Diwali, the Karwa Chauth Vrat is lauded during Krishna Paksha Chaturthi in the Hindu month of Kartik. This year, one of the auspicious festivals will be celebrated on November 4th.  Married Indian women fast from sunrise to moonrise for the good health of their partners and break the fast by worshipping the moon.

Significance of Karwa Chauth: The auspicious day is as exciting as Diwali which is celebrated exact 10 days after Karwa Chauth. On this day, women wake up early in the morning and eat food which is called sargi, before sunrise. After fasting the day, they deck up by wearing a new Indian suit or saree with red and green bangles and listen to the Karwa Chauth katha before breaking their fast after the moonrise.
