In his statement, Biden admitted the loss experienced and its impact felt on the families left behind. The number of deaths represents one death after every 327th American or the entire population of San Francisco or Seattle.
Joe Biden will memorialize the gloomy milestone by ordering the flags to be brought down to half-staff, the White House informed. It is also set to host a second global COVID Summit.
The president has today advised Congress to fund billions more in COVID aid to continue the fight against the virus as new variants are coming up.
