President Joe Biden yesterday announced the Covid-19 pandemic has hit the mark of 1 million deaths in America. The President is calling it a tragic milestone and asking Americans to “remain vigilant” amidst the pandemic.

In his statement, Biden admitted the loss experienced and its impact felt on the families left behind. The number of deaths represents one death after every 327th American or the entire population of San Francisco or Seattle.

Joe Biden will memorialize the gloomy milestone by ordering the flags to be brought down to half-staff, the White House informed. It is also set to host a second global COVID Summit.

The president has today advised Congress to fund billions more in COVID aid to continue the fight against the virus as new variants are coming up.

“We must remain vigilant against this pandemic and do everything we can to save as many lives as possible, as we have with more testing, vaccines, and treatments than ever before,” said Biden on Thursday.

American researchers are working on another booster shot as the COVID-19 virus is continuously mutating and evolving. The health experts have warned that greater pandemic countering investment is required to prevent future outbreaks that might cause further devastation.
