Alberta: 24-year-old Punjabi man shot dead in Edmonton

A 24-year-old Sikh Indian-origin youth died in Edmonton, Alberta of gunshot wounds earlier this month, with the police authorities deeming it a case of homicide.

The victim, identified as Sanraj Singh, was reportedly found in a state of medical distress by the Edmonton Police authorities after responding to a gunshot report at around 8:40 pm on December 3.

The police found Singh wounded, sitting in a vehicle. Singh was then given CPR until the paramedics arrived who consequently declared him dead.

According to a press release by the Edmonton Police, an autopsy conducted on Dec. 7, 2022, found that the manner of the death, which was caused by gunshot wounds, was a homicide.

The police have also since released the pictures of a vehicle of interest, which was seen leaving the area soon after the incident.

Earlier this month, 21-year-old Pawanpreet Kaur was shot dead outside a gas station in Mississauga, Ontario on December 3. On December 7, 40-year-old Harpreet Kaur was found dead after multiple stabbings at her residence in Surrey, British Columbia.
