Alberta Ramps Up Campaign to Attract Canadians of Other Provinces

The campaign is worth $2.6 Million and is using various mediums like posters, radio ads, television ads, and more to reach the residents.

A marketing campaign, ‘Alberta is Calling’ has been initiated by the Government of Alberta. They are calling out to the residents of Toronto to move towards the west.

Several posters have been hung up at the Subway Stations, which state some of the benefits of moving to Alberta including job opportunities and better affordability, in order to encourage the Torontonians to move towards the West.

In August, Premiere Jason Kenny announced that a campaign ‘Alberta is Calling’ will be initiated, wherein facilities like lower taxes, house affordability, and shorter commutes will be used as the key points to lure the residents of Toronto to move towards the mountains.

The campaign is worth $2.6 Million and is using various mediums like posters, radio ads, television ads, and more to reach the residents.

Some of the quotes written on the posters are, “It’s mountain time somewhere,” “An engineer, accountant, walk into a province, they all get jobs,” “Find things you would never expect like an affordable house,” and more.

It must be noted that the household income o the people have increased by 18% since 2016, however, affordable housing has also increased to 39.6%. Because of such a huge gap, aspiring homeowners are not able to purchase houses.

British Columbia has the most percentage of unaffordable houses with an increase of 25.5%, followed by a 24.2% increase in Ontario.

“The message we are sending is Alberta is home,” says Jason Kenny.
