17-year-old fatally shot in Scarborough Identified
The victim has been identified as a 17-yera-old resident of Toronto by the name of Zaybion Lawrence
The police has identfied the Victim of the Scarborough shooting that took place yesterday afternoon.
The victim has been identified as a 17-yera-old resident of Toronto by the name of Zaybion Lawrence. CPR was performed and Lawrence was taken to the trauma center, where he was later pronounced dead.
On Wednesday afternoon, at around 3:45 p.m., the Toronto Police and paramedics were reported to a shooting incident in Scarborough.
The shooting took place near the area of Gilder Drive and Eglington Avenue East. Upon the arrival of the paramedics, a man was located without any vital signs. Images from the scene have been released and a window has been damaged in a building right where the shooting incident took place.
A city-run child care centre also sustained damage, however the center was closed at the time of the incident.
The officials said in a statement, “The city is aware of a frightening incident that took place outside one of its childcare centres on Wednesday. Thankfully, the centre was closed at the time of the incident and no children or staff were present.”
The homicide unit is investigating th eissue and no information of the suspect has yet been released. Anyone with the information about the incident has been asked to contact police at 416-808-7400.
