by The Canadian Parvasi

A women’s squad of the BSF on Monday shot down a drone carrying narcotics across the border from Pakistan to India via Amritsar.

Officials on Tuesday informed that the drone entered Indian territory near Chaharpur village, about 40 km north of Amritsar city Monday night.

“Alert troops of BSF once again were able to capture a drone and foil a smuggling attempt. The drone was shot down by women personnel,” stated a BSF Spokesperson.

The drone, when retrieved, was found to be a partially damaged hexacopter that weighed 18 kg with a white polythene containing narcotics attached to it. The drone was carrying narcotics weighing about 3.11 kg, according to the BSF. Two female constables of the 73 battalion took the drone down at around 11:00 pm shooting about 25 rounds at it.

Another drone was spotted near the Vadai Cheema border outpost at 10.57 pm the same day, this drone, however, returned to Pakistan after it was shot at.

A similar drone was also taken down by the BSF in Amritsar last Friday.
