The Indian government is leaving no stone unturned in its attempt to bring Indian citizens back to the country that is stranded in Ukraine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently had a conversation with students evacuated from Ukraine and said that evacuation is going under adverse conditions, yet the government is trying its best.

“I can understand the problems you all have gone through at such a young age. The mental pressure you all have undergone is difficult…” said PM Modi in his interaction with students.

The students shared their experiences with the power of the Indian flag. The Indian flag was also flown on the buses of students from Pakistan, Nigeria and Turkey as they reached the borders of Poland, Hungary and Romania after seeing the special treatment given to the Indian students by Ukrainian forces.

Notably, the Indian government is constantly trying to evacuate all its citizens from the war-torn country and many flights have landed in India in the past few hours carrying stranded Indians in Ukraine back to the country.

The evacuation process had begun on 22nd February under the name ‘Operation Ganga’ and in the last two days, about 15 flights have landed in India bringing about 3000 Indians back home from Ukraine. The number of flights bringing back Indians is to be increased and the process will be expedited.
