At 10:30 p.m. on August 17, 2023, the York Regional Police received an emergency call (9-1-1) from a female individual who reported a distressing encounter with a knife-wielding man. The adult woman, accompanied by another female companion, was travelling through the vicinity of Highway 7 West and Martin Grove Road when an unfamiliar male approached on foot.

The apprehended individual had been operating a red 2010 Ford F150 pickup truck, which was subsequently discovered parked at a nearby gas station.

To facilitate the investigation and encourage potential victims to come forward, the police have released an image of the accused. Furthermore, the authorities are urging anyone who might have experienced a similar encounter to step forward and provide valuable information.

The accused is currently in custody, awaiting a scheduled bail hearing.
