Driver Escapes Mississauga’s Road by Speeding on Sidewalk

Christmas followed by Boxing Day led to delayed traffic on Mississauga. While some waited long hours in the traffic, some impatient drivers started to speed on the sidewalks of the busy roads.
A user posted a video of a car driver trying to escape the traffic by speeding on the sidewalk. The dashcam footage of the Reddit User named WhiskeyOctober posted the video which shows the vehicle driving on sidewalk on Mavis Road near Rathburn Road, southbound towards Burnhamthorpe.

It is not yet known if it causes any injuries or damage, however, peel police said that they are aware of the incident and are trying to identify both the driver and the vehicles.
Cst. Heather Cannon of Peel Police said, “Sidewalks are meant for our most vulnerable road users. They are not meant to be used as a short-cut or as another lane of traffic to navigate vehicles.” He further added, “If anyone observes any other driver conducting themselves in this same manner, this is a potentially dangerous situation and therefore 9-1-1 can be used.”
