Ex-Employee booked for killing Sikh Family in the US.

Jesus Salgado, the man accused of killing a Punjabi family of four, including an eight-year-old girl, has been charged with four counts of murder, one for each member killed. He is also charged with illegally possessing firearms and setting fire to the family’s truck. The accused’s brother, Alberto Salgado, has also been arrested on suspicion of criminal conspiracy and destroying evidence.

Salgado was said to be an ex-employee of the family’s trucking company, who, after being aggrieved with the family, abducted and killed the family.

This is not Salgado’s first brush with the law. He served 10 years in prison prior to this incident for holding a family at gunpoint in 2005.

Jesus Salgado was arrested on 6^th October after Law Enforcement led a wide search for his whereabouts. Salgado reportedly was trying to take his life when the Police found him.

The Punjabi-origin family of four, namely 8-month-old Aroohi Dheri, her 27-year-old mother Jasleen Kaur, her 36-year-old father Jasdeep Singh, and her 39-year-old uncle Amandeep Singh were reported missing to the police by Amandeep’s wife and other family members when they could not locate them.

They had reportedly been living in the US for 18 years and owned a gas station as well as a trucking company.

On 3^rd October, the Police found a truck belonging to Amandeep Singh set ablaze in Winton.

The bodies of all four of the missing persons were found last Tuesday near an orchid farm.

Salgado is to be arraigned on Monday.

The Merced County District Attorney’s office stated in a press release that the office does not intend to take the decision of whether to consider the death penalty or not.

The relatives of the victims have set up a GoFundMe to help the parents of the victims, who were reportedly economically dependent on their slain sons. The GoFundMe has reportedly garnered over 300,000 already.
