“I’m on call 24/7” retaliates Channi as CM Mann takes digs at him for ‘running away’.

After moving to a confidence motion in the Vidhan Sabha, CM Mann took sly digs at ex-CM Charanjit Singh Channi stating that he had ‘eloped’ the country to not have to take responsibility for his ‘anti-people’ decisions as CM.

“I want to ask Channi where he is, where he has gone after the polls. I want to ask him about the many files, which he signed in the last days of his government. There are many decisions which were anti-people. Why did he run away? Some people say he is in Canada and some say he is in America” CM Mann said to the gathering in the assembly.

He also said that Channi’s supposed ‘absence’ is a sign of having done something wrong as a lawmaker.

Channi has more or less been absolutely under the radar both on social media and at political gatherings ever since he lost the 2022 Punjab elections. Sources stated that he had been residing in Canada after the elections.

Charanjit Singh Channi himself has seemingly verified the facts in a rebuttal to CM Bhagwant Mann’s taunts stating that he is always available to conversate telephonically and that he, or his team, has yet to receive a call from Bhagwant Mann.

He further stated that he is in Canada to receive treatment for his eyes and will likely come back to submit his thesis since he is currently obtaining a Ph.D.
