IND vs AUS T20I updates: Pavilions named after Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh.

Just moments before the match, it has also been announced that the North Pavilion will be named after Former Indian Team All-Rounder Yuvraj Singh and the Terrace Block will be named after Former Indian team Off-Spinner Harbhajan Singh.

The first of the three-match series of the T20I is being played today, Tuesday, September 20 at a stadium in Mohali.

The Indian Team Line-up consists of Rohit Sharma(Captain), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Kartik(Wicketkeeper), Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Umesh Yadav.

While the Australian Team Line-up consists of Aaron Finch(captain), Cameron Green, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, Tim David, Matthew Wade(wicketkeeper), Pat Cummins, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Captain Rohit Sharma will perhaps have to take special efforts to keep team morale up as the team recently failed to qualify for the Asia Cup 2022.

The team also had two new additions in the form of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel.

This decision has been taken by the Punjab Cricket Association.

POST MATCH HIGHLIGHTS: Australia won the T20 match by four wickets. The Australian Team, which choose to feild after winning the toss, had to chase the target of 209, which they did effortlessly. Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade notably hit three sixes against Harshal Patel. Australia won with Cameron Green and Matthew Wade on the feild with the latter sealing the deal.

The Indian Team batted first and finished with 208 scores with Hardik Pandya finishing the innings on top with three sixes back to back in the last over.

 

The BCCI tweeted saying that the team will bounce back in the second match of the series in an effort to boost morale.
