Ji Min Sha, a Korean Cybersecurity student at Purdue University, has been charged with murder after reportedly stabbing his roommate multiple times in a crime described as “unprovoked and senseless” by the Indiana Police. Sha is allegedly being held without bail for the crime and if convicted, could face 45 to 60 years in prison.
The victim, identified as Varun Manish Chheda, was supposedly violently stabbed by the Korean student in their dorm room before Sha himself called the authorities to inform them that Chheda was dead.
The incident, which occurred on October 5, took Chheda’s life on the spot with his autopsy revealing that the 20-year-old had been subject to “multiple traumatic force injuries” at the behest of Sha, who was found wearing bloody clothes when arrested from their dorm room at the esteemed institution. Alongside the severely wounded body of the victim in a chair, law enforcement spotted blood on the wall and the floor as well as a folding Knife.
