The victim has not been identified by the officials but has warned travelers to expect hours-long delays near that section of the highway.

Mike Crampton, a witness to the incident, explained that he could have been involved in the accident if he had left a couple of minutes earlier than he did. Crampton shared, “I honestly wasn’t sure where I was on the highway, the fog was so thick you couldn’t really see any landmarks. I pulled into an exit lane thinking it would get me off the highway. Turns out that was where the Tim Horton’s and the Esso and the Humpty’s used to be, right by Crossfield there.”

The winter storm last week caused a lot of accidents and power outages in certain regions. Recently, a 100-vehicle accident was reported on Highway 401 and the reason was bad weather conditions. An Ebus carrying over 50 passengers also rolled over due to extremely icy conditions. Four people lost their lives while over 50 were injured.
