Ontario announces Back-to-School plan

Additional tutoring, mental health supports, and funding to build new schools, has also been incorporated in the plan.

A plan has been released by the Ontario Government to help students catch up the two years of interrupted learning due to the pandemic.

The plan’s primary focus is to get the students back into the classroom for a better school experience, but an option of remote learning will also be enabled by the Progressive Conservatives.

Additional tutoring, mental health supports, and funding to build new schools, has also been incorporated in the plan.

Education Minister Stephen Lecce said that the government is committed to enabling in school learning even if another wave of covid arises.

He further said, “We’re announcing plans to catch up today that is premised on keeping kids in school every single day, without disruption to their lives, be it from the negotiations or otherwise.”

According to the province, about $26.6 B has been allocated for Ontario’s secondary and elementary education.
