Punjab AAP government again in controversies by calling Iqbal Singh Lalpura corrupt

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been again in controversies in Punjab. AAP put the post on the social media page. In which National Minorities Commission chairman Iqbal Singh Lalpura was called corrupt. However, he came to know of the mistake as soon as he posted the post. This post was removed later. By then its screenshots had been taken. Soon after knowing this, Lalpura sent a defamation notice to AAP. He has asked Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann to apology.

Aam Aadmi Party released a poster on social media. It has a big picture of Bhagwant Mann. It was made with the headline ‘All the corrupt will be caught in Mann Sarkar’. In this, there is a picture of former Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot caught on charges of corruption in the forest department, Sangat Singh Giljian named in the same case and former Congress MLA Joginderpal Bhoa arrested in illegal mining. In this, the picture of Lalpura was put at number four. Describing him as a former Congress forest minister, he was accused of illegal felling of trees.
The legal team of National Minorities Commission Chairman Iqbal Singh Lalpura has sent a notice. In which it was said that the rumor was spread deliberately for the wrong purpose. False information about him was circulated on social media. Describing Lalpura as the most corrupt in this post, his photo was stamped with arrest. The post was now taken down but it remained on his page for several hours. Which many people saw. Now its screenshots are being shared on social media.
It was said in the notice that Iqbal Singh Lalpura has been an IPS officer. During this he was the SSP in Amritsar and Tarn Taran. CID was the AIG of Amritsar. From 1972 till now, there is no stain on him in public life. He has received more than 75 accolades and awards. He was an active officer even in the era of terrorism. He has also received the President’s Police Medal. Lalpura said that AAP should issue an apology within 48 hours. If not, he will take legal action.
