Truck Drivers Have Been Our Lifeline, Says Minister Alghabra
He mentioned about the labor shortage in the trucking industry and further emphasized on recruiting and training new truck drivers.
The whole country is aware about the sacrifices that were made by the truck drivers during the pandemic. From bringing in food and medicines from across the border to risking their own lives, they stood by the Canadians in the hour of need.
Where the situation has improved now and a lot of changes have already been made to ease out the process across border for our truckers, still many issues and hurdles are faced by them on daily basis.
Minister of transportation, Omar Alghabra addressed the issue in an interview on Parvasi Radio, on Wednesday morning.
“Truck drivers have been our lifeline. They have been working day and night, rolling up their sleeves, delivering essential goods that Canadians can rely on. They didn’t let the pandemic slow them down. They didn’t let any other issue slow them down,” Alghabra said.
