The weekly GO Train service to Niagara Falls has been extended to run throughout the year in order to attract more visitors to one of the busiest tourism hubs of the country.
The weekly GO Train service to Niagara Falls has been extended to run throughout the year in order to attract more visitors to one of the busiest tourism hubs of the country.
In an announcement on Friday, Premiere Doug Ford said, “This is just one part of our mission to build Ontario by bringing more transit options to one of the fastest growing areas of the province.”
Previously, the service ran seasonally.
With the advancement, the train will make two round trips each day on Saturday, Sunday, and holiday Mondays from October 15th.
Weekend passes will be available at $10 and provide unlimited travel on any one of those days. Riders also have a choice of unlimited travel over the full weekend on an additional charge of $5.

Over the pandemic, the tourism of Niagara region was hardly hit and deeply impacted the economy of the region.
According to the Mayor of Niagara falls, Jim Diodati, the number of visitors dropped by two thirds at the height of the pandemic.
This is not the first time that a year-round service to Niagara Falls from all Union Stations have been announced, it was first introduced in 2019, but was halted on the onset of COVID-19.
