Women hit by train in Mississauga, dies

On Friday morning, a woman was hit by a Canadian Pacific Railway freight and was pronounced dead on the spot.

On Friday morning, a woman was hit by a Canadian Pacific Railway freight and was pronounced dead on the spot.

According to the Peel Regional Police, the woman faced the accident at around 6 in the morning near Dundas Street East and Cawthra Road near the GO Station of Cooksville.

Anne Marie Aikins, spokesperson of Metrolinx said that though the circumstances are not precise yet, the incident did not take place at the railway crossing.

The managers of the GO transit said that the train service was held for a while the police were investigating the scene, however, it resumed soon after and anticipated minimum delays for the travelers.

A similar incident occurred in late July when a four-year-old girl was hit by a GO train in Mississauga.
