Thai Police broke the heinous news on Thursday that a child-care facility in Thailand’s Nong Bua Lampu province has been shot at, resulting in the sad demise of 34 people, 22 of which were children. Children as young as 2-year-old were shot at in an open fire by a gunman who is said to be an ex-Police Officer. The suspect reportedly employed both a knife as well as a gun in the attack.

The motive of this attack was supposedly just plain rage, as the shooter attacked the child-care center after he went to pick up his child, who he did not find there.  Media Reports indicate that the suspect may have been under the influence of drugs when he shot at the people in the child-care center.

The shooter has been identified as Panya Khamrab, who reportedly was in the Thai Police force but was dismissed on drug-related charges. Thailand’s Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, has initiated a manhunt for the assailant, whose whereabouts are still not confirmed

However, media reports suggest that the suspect killed himself and his own family following the attack in the fit of rage after returning home after he attacked the child-care center.
