Indian Worker Faces Racist Abuse at Oakville McDonald’s, Told to “Go Back to Your Country”, Video Goes Viral

A disturbing video from an Oakville McDonald’s has drawn widespread condemnation after a man was seen shouting racist slurs at an Indian worker. The footage, now viral on social media, captures the man using foul language and telling the employee to “go back to your fu**ing country.”

The outburst unfolded in front of customers, one of whom stepped in to confront the man. Instead of backing down, he repeated his slurs and grew more aggressive, further shocking onlookers.

Social media users have expressed outrage and disappointment over the incident. One user commented, “That’s horrible. This is my hometown. No place for this in our society. Shame on them all. Congrats to the worker for standing up to them and making them famous.” Another wrote, “Kids just say the most offensive things they can. I don’t know if it’s true racism or just entitled kids trying to be edge lords.”

A third user added, “Does not represent every white male. Many of us hate and love equally. The women made an excellent point when she asked if he would work there, and he said no.”

The incident adds to growing concern over racial hostility faced by South Asians in Canada. Earlier this month, Ontario MPP Hardeep Grewal was targeted in a separate racist attack when two individuals shouted, “Hey turban head, go home,” and “You all should die.”

In response to the rise in hate-motivated incidents, Peel Regional Police recently launched a centralized Hate Crime Unit to coordinate investigations and prosecutions. Among its early cases was the arrest of 29-year-old Freda Looker-Rilloraza, accused of spray-painting racist graffiti reading “Indian rats” near a children’s park in Mississauga.

Authorities and community leaders continue to urge Canadians to report hate incidents and support victims of racism.
