Trump Says Hormuz Blockade Will End, Claims Iran Accepted Top-Level Nuclear Inspections

U.S. President Donald Trump says the Strait of Hormuz will remain open “with no further Naval Blockade,” while claiming Iran has agreed to the “highest level” of nuclear inspections as part of continued negotiations.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said ships would remain in position in case the situation changes. His statement linked the future of maritime movement through the key waterway to Iran’s position on nuclear oversight, sanctions relief and humanitarian purchases.

Trump Says Hormuz Blockade Will Not Continue

“The Strait of Hormuz will remain open with no further Naval Blockade,” Trump wrote.

“However, all ships are remaining in place should it be necessary,” he added.

The comments come as the U.S. president sought to project control over both security and diplomatic tracks involving Iran. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most closely watched maritime routes because any disruption there raises concerns about global shipping, energy movement and regional stability.

Trump did not provide further operational details in the post about which ships would remain in place, how long they would stay there, or what conditions would trigger renewed action.

Iran Nuclear Inspections Claimed By Trump

Trump also claimed Iran has “fully and completely agreed to highest level Nuclear inspections.”

“If they did not agree to this, there would be no further negotiations,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The statement suggests Trump is tying any further talks with Iran to nuclear inspection commitments. He did not outline the inspection framework, identify the monitoring body, or provide details on when inspections would begin.

The claim marks a major assertion by the U.S. president, but the post did not include supporting documentation or a separate confirmation from Iranian officials.

Sanctions Relief Funds To Be Held In Escrow, Trump Says

Trump further claimed any funds and sanctions relief released to Iran would be placed in escrow accounts “controlled by the U.S.A.”

He said the money would be used only for “the purchase of food and medical supplies” from the United States, including “corn, wheat, and soybeans from our great American farmers”.

The remarks indicate Trump wants to frame any sanctions relief as restricted humanitarian spending, rather than direct financial access for Iran.

Further clarity is expected on whether Iran confirms the inspection claim, how the escrow mechanism would operate, and whether the pause in any Hormuz blockade holds as negotiations continue.
