Downtown Toronto Triple Shooting Leaves Two Dead, One Injured

A shooting in Regent Park that left two people dead and another person injured Tuesday afternoon in Downtown Toronto.

A tragic shooting incident occurred at the Regent Park neighborhood of Toronto on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in two fatalities and one person sustaining injuries, according to authorities.

The harrowing event transpired around 1:30 p.m. near Dundas Street East, just east of Parliament Street, Toronto police disclosed. Initially responding to reports of two injured individuals, the law enforcement soon discovered a scene of escalating violence. 

Toronto police reveal that the altercation commenced within a residential property before spilling out onto the streets. The area surrounding had numerous police vehicles and officers. 

Later it was reported that one male suspect is dead in the hospital while the other one died at the spot. Toronto police also revealed that a woman was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Moreover, authorities disclosed that the three victims and the suspect are related, but they have not provided details about their relationship yet. This is because they are still in the process of informing the next of kin about the incident.

It is not clear what charges, if any, the suspect taken into custody will face. Police also said that a gun has been recovered.

Around 3:45 p.m., Toronto police posted on X that two officers were taken to the hospital after a foot chase near River Street linked to the shooting incident. Their injuries are said to be not life-threatening.
