Chandigarh: The “Minister’s Flying Squad”, recently constituted on the directions of Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar to crack down against corrupt practices in the department, has caught ticket theft during a surprise check of the Volvo bus bound for Ludhiana from International Airport, New Delhi.

Divulging in this regard, the Transport Minister said, the 6-member squad checked IGI Airport Delhi-Ludhiana Volvo bus number PB08-CX-9053 of Jalandhar depot at Panipat at 11.20 PM last night. During the checking, it was found that the conductor had not given tickets to the passengers after taking Rs 3,555.

S. Bhullar instructed the Secretary Transport to immediately fire the bus conductor Jagdish Singh from service for embezzling Rs.3,555. He reiterated that corruption at any level will not be tolerated at any cost as the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann led government has adopted a zero tolerance policy against corruption.
