22 Year Old Gurveer Bains Of Brampton Arrested By Police After Fleeing Serious Collision

Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau have charged a 22-year-old man from Brampton, who fled from a serious collision involving a pedestrian and from police.

On Saturday, November 4, 2023, at approximately 2:17 a.m., the victim was crossing the roadway at the intersection of Castle Oaks Crossing & Bellchase Trail in Brampton. At that time, a vehicle, alleged to be driven by the accused, was travelling westbound on Castle Oaks Crossing when it struck the victim and fled the scene. The victim was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

A short time later, the suspect vehicle contacted a patrol vehicle that had attempted to stop the accused. Police later stopped the vehicle and the driver was arrested. Gurveer Bains, a 22-year-old man from Brampton was charged with the following offences:

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on November 13, 2023.
