One Dead, One Airlifted After Serious Brampton Crash Near Williams Parkway
A man has died and a woman remains in life-threatening condition after an SUV crashed into a transport truck in Brampton on Tuesday afternoon, Peel Regional Police said.
The collision happened in the southbound lanes of Airport Road, north of Williams Parkway, shortly before 3:30 p.m. Police said the SUV struck the rear of a transport truck. A Peel police social media update posted the call time as 3:15 p.m. and said two vehicles were involved.

Officers and paramedics found the SUV’s male driver and female passenger with life-threatening injuries. Peel police media relations officer Const. Mandeep Khatra said both occupants had to be extracted from the vehicle. The man was taken to a trauma centre, where he was pronounced dead. The woman was airlifted to a trauma centre and remains in critical condition.
“We would like to extend our deepest heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and all those that are impacted by this tragic incident,” Khatra said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Images from the scene showed part of the SUV lodged underneath the rear of the truck.
“Our major collision bureau investigators will look at every different avenue. We’ll use all different strategies to try to figure out what exactly happened,” Khatra said.
“Based on the witness accounts of people in the area, they mentioned that speed would likely be a factor in this collision.”
