Brampton is recruiting more than 1,500 workers for the upcoming municipal election, offering paid roles ranging from greeters to location supervisors as the city prepares for voting day on Monday, Oct. 26.
Residents interested in Brampton election jobs may apply online or submit a paper application at the city clerk’s office at city hall, located at 2 Wellington St. W., during regular weekday hours. Applicants must be at least 16 years old for greeter positions and at least 18 years old for all other election worker roles.
Brampton Election Jobs Include Advance Voting Roles
The city is also filling positions for advance voting, scheduled for Oct. 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17.
Successful applicants will receive notification in late summer. All workers must complete mandatory training before taking on their assigned role. Most positions require both in-person and virtual training, while greeter training will take place fully online.
Available roles include location supervisor, assistant location supervisor, deputy returning officer, tabulator attendant, accessible unit attendant and greeter.
Pay Ranges From $285 To $1,266
Compensation varies by role. Location supervisors will receive a flat-rate payment of $1,242 to $1,266, while assistant location supervisors will earn $1,157 to $1,181.
Deputy returning officers will receive $408. Tabulator attendants and accessible unit attendants will each receive $304. Greeters will receive $285. Payments will be issued about eight weeks after election day.
Training and time commitments also vary. Location supervisors and assistant location supervisors must complete about three hours of training and material review, while deputy returning officers also require about three hours. Tabulator attendants and accessible unit attendants require about two hours, while greeters require about one hour.
