A café in Surrey owned by Indian entertainment star Kapil Sharma has been targeted in a second shooting incident, less than a month after it first came under fire.
The latest shooting occurred Thursday morning at Kap’s Café, located near 85 Avenue and Scott Road, where the aftermath showed at least six bullet holes and smashed windows. Surrey police confirmed they are investigating the incident, but have not yet released further details.
This marks the second time the café has been shot at. In early July, just days after the café’s grand opening, gunfire erupted while staff members were inside the premises. No one was injured, and no arrests were made at the time. The motive behind that attack also remains unclear.
The twin shootings come amid growing tension in Surrey’s South Asian business community, with reports of rising extortion threats against local establishments and individuals.
In connection with the latest shooting, two gangs, Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi, have reportedly claimed responsibility through social media posts. A video believed to be from the scene captured the sound of at least 25 gunshots. In the background, a voice is heard saying:
“… We had called the target, but he didn’t hear the ring, so we had to take action. If he still doesn’t hear the ring, the next action will be taken soon in Mumbai.”
