As per source, Canada’s premiers have decided to accept Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s offer of 10-year health-care funding and are now concentrating on signing their own bilateral agreements with the federal government.

The $196.1 billion federal offer made last week includes $25 billion for bilateral agreements customised to the requirements of each province and territory’s healthcare system, as well as increases to the amount budgeted to flow through the Canada Health Transfer (CHT).

The budget, which includes $46.2 billion in additional funds, does not, in the opinion of the premiers, fully address all of their concerns. As a result, they still intend to pressure Trudeau to address specific issues, such as long-term difficulties.
