On Friday, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh conducted a cultural media roundtable in the City of Brampton. He was asked several questions by the media on issues including rising grocery prices, the vulnerability of youngsters to being involved in drugs, auto theft in the peel region, and more.

Prabhnoor Kaur from Parvasi Media Group questioned him about the bail policy and why does the country not have strict laws to put regular and consistent offenders behind bars, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh said while quoting America’s example that he does not believe stricter laws will help in cutting down crime in the country.

Singh said, “The solution to putting a halt to crime is a complex question. It is the police’s responsibility to find and punish those who have committed a crime, however, if someone has already committed a crime, it should not lead to a complete devastation of the offender’s life.”
