Surrey Shooting Leaves One Dead, Another Injured As Burning Vehicle Found During Investigation

A man is dead and another has been injured after shots were fired into a vehicle in Surrey, B.C., on Tuesday evening, prompting a homicide investigation by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

Surrey Police Service said officers were called just before 7 p.m. PT to the 6800 block of 148 Street, south of T.E. Scott Park, after reports of gunfire directed at a vehicle.

Fatal Surrey Shooting Under Investigation

Police said one man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

No arrests have been made, and police said they do not yet have information about any possible suspects.

IHIT Takes Over Surrey Homicide Case

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has now taken conduct of the investigation. IHIT investigates homicide cases in several Metro Vancouver jurisdictions, including Surrey.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact investigators as they work to determine what led to the attack and identify those responsible.
