Teen Stabbed Near Brampton School, Suspect Arrested

A teen boy was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing near McMurchy Avenue South and Elgin Drive in Brampton Friday morning, prompting temporary safety measures at two nearby schools.

Peel Regional Police said the call came in at 8:24 a.m. The incident was described as isolated, and officers reported a large police presence in the area.

Brampton Centennial Secondary School was placed in lockdown, while Bishop Francis Allen Catholic School was placed in hold and secure.

Peel police later confirmed a male suspect had been arrested and said both school safety measures had been lifted.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police have not released the victim’s exact age, the suspect’s age, or possible charges.
