On January 17, the narcotics squad of the Toronto police carried out 15 warranted searches as part of their inquiry.

All seven of the homes that were raided, which the police referred to as “stash houses,” were in Toronto. Two of those homes allegedly had furniture that was used to “conceal contraband,” according to the investigators.

“This is occurring in all of our neighborhoods in Toronto, the GTA and all the smaller towns and municipalities in Ontario property through the importation and distribution of illicit substances, sometimes laced with toxic opioids. The drugs distributed by these organized criminal groups have fueled and continued to fuel gun violence and associated crime and disorder in our communities throughout the country,” said Supt Steven Watts, of Organized Crime Enforcement.
