A deadly fire at a Brampton home early Thursday left two adults dead and four others in hospital, including a child. Emergency crews were called to Banas Way, near McLaughlin Road and Remembrance Road, shortly after 2 a.m., where they found the home engulfed in flames.
Fire Chief Andy Glynn said crews arrived to intense fire conditions. Flames were pushing through the roof and parts of the structure had already collapsed. One victim was located near the entrance of the home. Another was found outside the building. Four survivors were taken to hospital in critical condition and remain in serious condition.

Glynn said firefighters are still unable to enter sections of the home because of safety concerns. Several people who lived in the affected unit have not been accounted for. Glynn said the situation remains uncertain until investigators can search the interior.
Officials say nearby homes were damaged, although residents in those properties managed to leave safely.
Peel Police Acting Sgt. Tyler Bell said investigators have not confirmed how many people are missing. He explained that overnight work schedules make accountability difficult during early morning emergencies. He said some residents may have been away for their shifts while others might have left the home before the fire started.
Bell said information from the four hospitalized survivors will help determine who else lived in the home. He said officers hope no additional victims are inside the damaged structure.
The Office of the Fire Marshal is now leading the investigation and will review the cause, origin, and circumstances of the fire. Bell said there is no information yet to suggest suspicious or criminal activity. Officials confirmed the victims suffered burns and smoke inhalation.
Glynn expressed condolences to the families affected and said the incident has deeply affected first responders.
