Violent Car Theft Caught on Video: Police Seek 39-Year-Old Suspect in Peel Region

Police have recently unveiled a distressing video depicting a violent car theft that took place in Caledon last May. The incident involved a suspect, Calvin Peacock, who is wanted in connection with several similar cases in Peel Region. Peacock, a 39-year-old individual, has reportedly been orchestrating test drives for high-end vehicles advertised for sale online.

The 28-second video captures the harrowing scene in the Mayfield Area. It begins with a man, believed to be Peacock, seated in the driver’s seat as he prepares to steal the car. Suddenly, another individual wearing a hoodie approaches the left rear passenger door and tries to enter the vehicle. Unexpectedly, the car reverses, pushing the hoodie-clad man backward, causing him to fall to the ground. Fortunately, he manages to roll away to avoid being hit.

Following this, the stolen car collides with a parked white vehicle before coming to a halt. The man in the hoodie promptly gets up and attempts to open the driver’s door, even going as far as punching the window in frustration. His companion, a man in a t-shirt, tries to assist but is struck by the driver as the car abruptly lurches forward.

In a courageous attempt to prevent the car from escaping, the two men continue to punch the driver’s window relentlessly. Despite their efforts, they are unable to stop the thief, and he manages to flee the scene.

Authorities have released a statement alongside the video, describing Peacock’s dangerous driving habits and his utter disregard for public safety. They reveal that Peacock operates in various areas, not only in Peel Region but also in other parts of the province.

While the Ontario Provincial Police takes charge of the investigation into the Caledon car theft, Peel police have identified Peacock and an unknown accomplice as the culprits behind several similar incidents in the region. Consequently, an arrest warrant has been issued for Calvin Peacock, who faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime, theft of a motor vehicle, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

To aid in their search for the suspects, law enforcement has also released photos of both Calvin Peacock and his unidentified accomplice. The accomplice is described as a male, approximately five-foot-eight, with a slim build, medium complexion, and short black hair. He sports a full beard and wears glasses.

Authorities urge the public to exercise caution and report any information that may lead to the arrest of these dangerous individuals.
