Jashanpreet Singh, the 27-year-old founder of the Punjabi Devils Motorcycle Club in Stockton, California, has been sentenced to five years and four months in federal prison for unlawfully dealing firearms and possessing a machine gun, U.S. officials said.
Singh, of Lodi, was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Eric Grant. Federal prosecutors said Singh founded the “Punjabi Devils” Motorcycle Club, described in court documents as a Stockton-based outlaw motorcycle gang associated with the Hells Angels.
According to court documents, Singh attempted to sell multiple weapons to an undercover officer on June 6, 2025. The weapons included a short-barreled rifle, three assault weapons, three machine gun conversion devices and a revolver.
The case escalated after law enforcement searched Singh’s residence and found more firearms and weapon-related items. Officers discovered a machine gun, another machine gun conversion device and a silencer.
Authorities also found a pineapple-style capped and fused hand grenade, along with what law enforcement believed was a military electronic capped claymore mine. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department bomb team destroyed the items at the scene.
Singh initially faced state charges in San Joaquin County. Prosecutors said he failed to appear in court on July 21, 2025, leading the state court to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.
Two days later, on July 23, 2025, the FBI received an alert from U.S. Customs and Border Protection that Singh had booked a ticket to India. He was scheduled to leave from San Francisco International Airport on July 26, 2025.
Officers arrested Singh at the airport before he could leave the country. He has remained in federal custody.
The investigation involved the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, Homeland Security Investigations, San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordinance Detail, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, Stockton Police Department and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Adrian T. Kinsella prosecuted the case.
Federal officials said the prosecution formed part of Operation Take Back America, a U.S. Department of Justice initiative focused on violent crime, cartels, transnational criminal organizations and illegal immigration enforcement.
