Langar Seva at Brampton City Hall Hosted by Deputy Mayor Singh, Councillor Toor and Councillor Brar on April 16

Brampton will mark Sikh Heritage Month with a Langar Seva event at City Hall on Thursday, April 16, bringing residents together for an afternoon focused on community service, inclusion and shared meals.

The event, presented by Deputy Mayor Harkirat Singh, Gurpartap Singh Toor, Regional Councillor for Wards 9 and 10, and Navjit Kaur Brar, Regional Councillor for Wards 2 and 6, is scheduled from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Ken Whillans Square and the City Hall Conservatory.

Langar is a long-standing Sikh tradition rooted in equality, seva, or selfless service, and community care. The Brampton event is expected to reflect those values by welcoming people from all backgrounds to gather and take part in the spirit of togetherness during Sikh Heritage Month.

The event poster released ahead of the gathering highlights the City of Brampton’s involvement and promotes the public nature of the event. Organizers say the celebration will take place in a central civic space, giving residents an opportunity to connect while recognizing the cultural and community contributions of the Sikh community in Brampton.

Sikh Heritage Month is observed each April in Ontario and across Canada, with municipalities, schools and community groups hosting events to recognize Sikh history, faith and service.

With Brampton home to a large and vibrant Sikh population, the Langar Seva event at City Hall will serve as both a cultural celebration and a public expression of unity.
