Delhi Police have arrested Bandhuman Sekhon, a key suspect linked to the triple firing incidents at comedian Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Surrey, British Columbia. The cafe, launched in July, faced attacks on three occasions: shortly after opening, on August 7, and again on October 16. The latest arrest adds a new layer to an already complex cross-border case.
Bandhuman Sekhon is reportedly connected to the Goldy Dhillon gang. Authorities in Delhi apprehended him in Ludhiana, recovering a Chinese pistol and cartridges. Police sources described Sekhon as a major operative in orchestrating attacks for the gang, which has a history of violent offences both in India and abroad.
New details reveal that Sekhon was previously arrested in Canada last year by the Peel Regional Police Extortion Investigative Task Force. He, along with several others, faced charges in Brampton related to criminal activity. It remains unclear whether he was released on bail, deported, or fled the country, a matter that Peel Police or Canadian authorities could clarify.
