Peel Regional Police, working with Halton Regional Police and Canada Post, have arrested eight men and recovered more than $400,000 worth of stolen mail in a coordinated investigation targeting a regional theft ring.
The joint probe began in April 2025 after a series of mail thefts were reported across Peel Region. Investigators uncovered a group suspected of targeting residential mailboxes, leading to significant losses and inconvenience for residents.
Search warrants were carried out on September 8 and 9 at several Mississauga homes on Rhinebank Street, Brandon Gate Drive, Dwiggin Avenue, and Kittridge Drive. Police recovered 465 pieces of stolen mail that included 255 cheques, 182 credit cards, 35 government IDs, and 20 gift cards.
Eight men have been charged with a total of 344 property-related offences. Those charged are Sumanpreet Singh, Gurdeep Chattha, Jashandeep Jattana, Harman Singh, Jasanpreet Singh, Manroop Singh, Rajbir Singh, and Upinderjit Singh. All eight appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for bail hearings.
Peel Police confirmed they are working with the Peel Crown Attorney’s Office and the Canada Border Services Agency to determine whether removal proceedings may be pursued for any of the accused foreign nationals.
