Search operation launched, building evacuated after bomb threat call in Chandigarh district court

Following a bomb threat call, the Chandigarh Police reportedly launched a search operation at the district court complex in sector 43 in Chandigarh on Tuesday,

All in the court, including the judges and the advocates, were reportedly rushed out of the premises while the entire building was evacuated.

The building, which was closed off, was surrounded by dog squads and bomb disposal squads deployed at the court complex, according to media reports.

“We got information from the control room that there may be a bomb (inside the court complex). After this, a massive search operation has been launched,” a senior Chandigarh Police Official reportedly stated to news outlets.

According to media reports, police deployment in the area has since been strengthened.

It may be pertinent to note that the court complex is situated nearby the interstate bus terminus in Sector 43, which sees a lot of daily footfall.
