Rupnagar Police arrests Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria’s accomplice; 9 Pistols, 20 live Cartridges seized

Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav took to Twitter on Saturday to state that an aide of infamous gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria was nabbed by the Rupnagar Police.

“In a major breakthrough,@RupnagarPolice has arrested Vishal Verma, a close accomplice of Gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and recovered 9 Pistols along with 20 live Cartridges and a magazine. They were operating a weapon & drug smuggling racket,” DGP Yadav stated Saturday.

“FIR is registered and further investigation is ongoing Stern action will be taken against all involved in illegal weapon networks @PunjabPoliceInd is 100% committed as per the vision of CM @BhagwantMann,” he added further.

The arrested, identified as Vishal Verma alias Shalu, is supposedly a resident of Hoshiarpur and a close accomplice of Bhagwanpuria, according to media reports.

Police authorities also seized 9 Pistols along with 20 live Cartridges and a magazine while carrying out the arrest of Verma, DGP Yadav stated.

A police team, which included SP (Investigation) Manvinderbir Singh, DSP (Investigation) Talwinder Singh and CIA incharge Inspector Satnam Singh, nabbed the suspect on the Ropar bypass, Ropar SSP Vivek Sheel Soni detailed.

An FIR has been lodged in relation to the incident and an investigation for the same is underway, DGP Gaurav Yadav stated.
