Peel Regional Police are investigating a fatal shooting inside a Brampton home that left one man dead and another injured Tuesday night.

Officers were called to Bayhampton Drive, near Humberwest Parkway and Castlemore Road, around 8:40 p.m. after reports of gunfire. When police arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to a trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting happened inside the residence. The suspects fled in a vehicle before police arrived. Authorities say the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
The homicide bureau has taken over the investigation. Police are urging residents to review security footage and contact investigators with any information. Officers are also canvassing the area for witnesses.
